Selvagem tells the story of Sofia and Ciro. She is a studious and diligent teenager. He, awkward and spontaneous. When their classmates at their state school become involved in the student movement, both need to take a stand in this entirely new event in their lives. Sofia, previously hesitant, begins a journey of understanding herself through the troubled moment she is living at school, while Ciro initially seeks, through his admiration for Sofia, reasons to also become involved. This involvement, with all of its material and interpersonal mishaps, will show these young 15 and 16-year-olds empathy, love and the sense of collectivity. Overprotective parents, underpaid teachers and other, not always apparent forces will try to put an end to this moment in which students find themselves gaining responsibility and power. Selvagem is a passionate, urgent and fierce portrait of youth in Brazil.
