After 20 years missing, João Grilo returns to the small  town of Taperoá to join his old friend Chicó. It turns out he is welcomed as a celebrity in the city : legend has it that he had been killed by a rifle bullet and resurrected after a trial in which the Devil was the accuser, Our Lady was the defender and Jesus Christ himself was the judge. Wanted as the main electoral leader by the two most powerful politicians in the city, he does everything to finally carry out the coup that will earn him a lot of money and, who knows, an easy life – as if it were possible for him to settle down. But nothing goes as planned and he will have to resort to the Compassioned again.
