Roberta is in the best phase of her life. Recently separated, she lives with her daughter Nara, enjoying a freedom she hasn't experienced in a long time. Roberta works as a vocal coach and has a quiet routine in her apartment in the Peixoto neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. Everything changes when she goes to a party and watches the premiere of the soap opera "The Evil Mother" by  renowned author Modesto Estrela. The soap opera becomes an immediate success, but there is something familiar for Roberta: she discovers the plot is based on her life. And worst of all, she is the villain of the soap opera. Desperate, Roberta approaches the actress who is enjoying success playing the villain, Paloma, to try to uncover how her secrets are being exposed.
