Ariane Mnouchkine from the Théâtre du Soleil is called upon to supervise the staging of the play "As Comadres" in Brazil, with a troupe of actresses in a collaborative approach that aims to break away from dominant patterns to give birth to a collective work.
Originally, three Brazilian actresses were looking for a play to perform in their country in the midst of an economic, political, social and cultural crisis. Touched by their concerns, Ariane Mnouchkine offered them “Les Belles-Sœurs” by Michel Tremblay (“As Comadres”, in Portuguese).
A unique opportunity to see live and so closely a living legend of world theater directing actresses whom she meets for the first time, in a very particular context: that of Brazil during the Bolsonaro years.
