MALÊS is a journey of resistance and courage, set in the vibrant Salvador of 1835. During their wedding, two young Muslims are torn from their homeland in Africa and enslaved in Brazil. Separated by a cruel fate, they both struggle to survive and find each other again, while becoming involved in the largest insurrection of enslaved people in Brazilian history: the Malês Revolt.
