1970. Mauro (Michel Joelsas) is a 12-year-old from Minas Gerais who loves soccer and button footblall. One day his life changes completely, as his parents leave on vacation suddenly. In fact, Mauro's parents were forced to flee because they were persecuted by the dictatorship, having to leave him with his father's grandfather (Paulo Autran). But the grandfather faces problems, and Mauro has to stay with Shlomo (Germano Haiut), an old solitary Jew neighbor. While awaiting a phone call from his parents, Mauro needs to deal with his new reality, which has moments of sadness for the situation in which he lives and also of joy, as he follows the performance of the Brazilian national team in the World Cup.
